Plumber rates in South London — no call-out fee, prices published
The short answer: most jobs have a fixed price, published here and agreed before we start. Repairs from £80, a boiler service is £120, a CP12 is £80, an emergency water leak call-out is £150, and a combi boiler swap starts at £2,500. We don't charge a fee just to come out and quote. For work that isn't on the list we charge by the hour — £90 for plumbing, £120 for gas and heating, minimum one hour — and you're told which applies before anyone starts.

How a job gets its price
Three routes, depending on what the job is — and we tell you which one applies before any work starts.
01
Published fixed prices
Servicing, certificates, diagnostics, emergency call-outs and the common repairs. The price is on the website before you ring — a boiler service is £120, a CP12 is £80, taps from £90, an emergency water leak £150. Book it and that's the bill.
02
Free survey, written quote
New boilers, powerflushes, bathrooms and kitchens. We survey free, then quote the whole job in writing with parts and labour itemised. However long it actually takes, the quote is the price.
03
Charged by the hour
Only for work that isn't on the price list and can't be quoted up front. £90 an hour for plumbing, £120 for gas and heating, minimum one hour, then in 30-minute blocks. We say so on the phone before an engineer sets off.

Rate questions, answered
Including our actual hourly rate and the going London figures — so you can compare properly, even if you don't use us.
How much does a plumber charge per hour?
In London the going rate is typically £60 to £120 an hour, usually with a first-hour minimum and a call-out fee on top. Ours is £90 an hour for plumbing and £120 for gas and heating work, with a minimum of one hour and no call-out fee to get us there. But most of what we do is not charged by the hour at all — the common jobs have a published fixed price instead, so a tap replacement is £90 whether it takes forty minutes or two hours.
What is a plumber's day rate?
London day rates generally run £350 to £550 for a plumber, more for a Gas Safe engineer. We don't quote a day rate. Larger jobs — bathroom refits, kitchen plumbing, boiler installations — are surveyed free and quoted as a written fixed price for the whole job, parts and labour itemised. The quote is the price, however many days it takes.
Which jobs are fixed price, and which are hourly?
Anything on our published price list is fixed — servicing, gas safety certificates, diagnostics, emergency call-outs and the common repairs. Larger work like a new boiler, a powerflush or a bathroom is surveyed free and quoted as a written fixed price for the whole job. Only work that is not on the list and cannot be quoted up front is charged by the hour, and we tell you that on the phone before an engineer sets off — never afterwards.
Is the fixed price binding? What if you find something worse?
The price you agree is the price on the invoice. If we open something up and find more than expected, we stop and agree a revised price with you before continuing — never after. You'll never learn the number when the bill arrives.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No — there is no charge just for coming out, and surveys and written quotes are free. Diagnostic and emergency call-outs are a fixed published price rather than a fee on top: £120 for a boiler or heating breakdown (deducted from the repair if you go ahead), £150 for an emergency water leak, £180 for an emergency gas leak. Full details are on our contact page and emergency page.
Do your rates go up at night or at weekends?
Our published emergency call-out prices are the same at 2am on a bank holiday as at 2pm on a Tuesday. Plenty of firms run an out-of-hours multiplier on top; we don't — the price quoted on the phone is the price on the invoice.
Where can I see the full price list?
On our services page — every price we publish, currently 43 lines across boilers, heating, powerflushing, bathrooms, kitchens and general plumbing, grouped by service. Anything not listed is priced on the phone or after a free survey.
